About Bhangarh Fort
Bhangarh Fort is the most Popular places to visit nearby Jaipur and Delhi. Bhangarh Fort is named after village Bhangarh, is counted among the most haunted and imposing forts in Rajasthan. It was built by Man Singh I in the 17th century.
The fort Entry gate is very huge gate through which one would enter into the premises of the fort. Through this gate one has to take a long walk to reach to the main castle. As you enter the main gate, you get to see a trail of Hindu temples with the likes of Hanuman Temple, Gopinath Temple, Someshwar Temple, Keshav Rai Temple, Mangla Devi Temple, Ganesh Temple and Navin Temple. An ASI board stands in welcome, warning visitors against entering the fort after sunset. This what makes it an ‘almost’ legally accredited ghost fort.
The story of Bhangarh Fort:-
Rani Ratnavati was a standout amongst the most wonderful ladies of her chance her magnificence was the argument among every one of the kingdoms. Charmed by her excellence, a magician named Singhia attempted to lure her by the back enchantment he have.
When he enchanted one of Ratnavati’s servant and sent enchantment oil for her. Ratnavati who also used to keep a bit knowledge about the black magic came to know sorcerer’s trick and throw the oil away on the huge boulder, as a result, boulder was started rolling on the ground and crushed the sorcerer.
Later amidst the fight among Ajabgarh and Bhangarh, Rani Ratnavati murdered and it is trusted that the apparition of the ruler and the alchemist are as yet wandering in the premises of the fort and nobody is allowed to stay or enter in the fort after sunset. This is how Bhangarh become one of the most haunted places in India.
Before Planning on how to reach Bhangarh, please keep in mind the place opens only after sunrise and shuts its doors after 6.pm, so plan your trip according to that time.
- From Jaipur:
Jaipur is the nearest city to Bhangarh Fort. Its 2 hr journey from Jaipur to reach Bhangarh.
- From Delhi:
By road, it’s around 278 Km from Delhi and takes around 5 hrs to reach Bhangarh.
By train, Alwar is the closest railway station to Bhangarh. You can hire a taxi from Alwar.
- The entry fees for the foreigner is Rs 200 and for Indians, it is Rs 25.
- Visit towards the end of the day, but before 4:30.
- You will need one hour to explore the whole fort
- Talk to the locals; shepherds, watchmen etc.
